Hang is such a sweet, helpful and well behaved 10-year-old boy. But he doesn’t have much time left with CCAI. In just about 3 weeks, since he has yet to find his forever family, his file will have to be returned to China and his chances of ever being placed in a loving home will greatly diminish.

Hang participated in our Summer 2015 Hosting Program and his family says he was happy to help clean, cook and wash dishes. As host time continued, he learned to enjoy himself and would spend hours playing basketball, riding his bike outside and building with legos, playing with play-dough and drawing on a magna doodle! He was very curious about his surroundings and liked to check everything out. He was very respectful of the his host family’s home and host siblings.

“If he needed to be corrected, he would try and do better and wanted to show that he was making the right choices,” says his host family.

He enjoyed participating in new activities and during hosting he visited a water park, zoo, aquarium and playgrounds. Large crowds and noises did not bother him. He can communicate verbally very well, but he cannot read or write yet.

Dang Zi Hang 7.21.14 (5)“He was anxious to learn and learned to write several English letters while visiting as well as learning to count in English and use several English phrases. By the end of hosting, he communicated many of his needs in English.”

He will thrive in a family who has the time to help him catch up with social skills and education. A family will earn extra points with him if they love to cuddle! His special needs were a non-issue during hosting. He happily took his medications for Epilepsy and did not show any seizure activity. He also visited the eye doctor and needed glasses because he is slightly near sighted. He was very cooperative at the dentist and eye doctor. Wonderful boy who still has a lot of “little boy” in him!

HOSTING ADVOCACY PROFILE: Ke

Ke is a smart little boy who has yet to unlock his full potential! He gets along well with our other children, easily adapts to new environments, and loves being cuddled!

Zheng Min Ke Hosting 12.23.15This past week we have observed that his receptive language Zheng Min Ke Hostingis amazing.  He can understand anything spoken to him in his native language.  He can run and does so with a joyful spirit.  We have heard him say hello, goodbye, come here, dog, cat, and panda in mandarin.

Ke is potty trained and sleeps very well.  The boy loves food and is able to stop when he is full.  The one area that we see him struggle is his ability to initiate conversation. However, he can shake his head yes or no whenever we ask him a question.  He is an amazing child who really needs a family willing to explore his fullest potential!

If you or someone you know would like more information about adopting Ke, please contact us at waitingchild@ccaifamily.org or call us at 303-850-9998 and ask to speak with the waiting child department. Please let us know you are inquiring about “KE FROM WINTER HOSTING”

HOSTING ADVOCACY PROFILE: Hui

Hui’s personality is quiet and reserved until she is comfortable with her surroundings.  Then she really blossoms and becomes open and very friendly!!  She is happy to go along with whatever her host family has planned. She enjoys active play and playing with children her age. Hui gets along very well with others and shares toys easily.

Even though she has cerebral palsy, she is able to walk independently, though it is a little unsteady.  She needs help with stairs, getting into/out of the car, etc.  She is able to assist in dressing herself, using the restroom, and bathing, but is still unable to do these independently just yet.  With some assisting devices—rails/bars in tub, a lower toilet, etc. she may be able to take on these tasks independently!! She is able to feed herself well.  She is quickly learning new skills and words while staying with her host family and they are very impressed with her.  She appears to be a quick learner when someone spends time with her.

After her family visited an orthopedic specialist the doctor’s opinion was that her condition would greatly improve with ongoing and consistent physical therapy. Hui also had her teeth cleaned and was an absolutely fabulous patient!

If you or someone you know would like more information about adopting Hui, please contact us at waitingchild@ccaifamily.org or call us at 303-850-9998 and ask to speak with the waiting child department. Please let us know you are inquiring about “HUI FROM WINTER HOSTING”

HOSTING ADVOCACY PROFILE: Min

Pu Min Juan Hosting 12.22.15 (3)Pu Min Juan HostinMin quite a special young lady! Her nannies say she is usually always in a good mood and would really enjoy the opportunity to find a mom, dad and even siblings to call her own!

She is a very active girl, according to her host family she is a tough girl and won’t let her spinal malformation get in her way at all!

“She will run, jump, and play just like any other kid her age!” says her host mom. “One day we took her to the park and she was even helping the younger children up and down the slide! She is always very bright and cheerful.”

Pu Min Juan Hosting 12.22.15 (4)Min is also really enjoying being with her host family during the Christmas season. She hasn’t hesitated to partake in the best traditions the holidays has to offer. From baking cookies to writing her letter to Santa, Min is full of the holiday spirit.

She especially enjoys drawing, singing and playing with dolls. She likes animals and would love a day at the zoo! She likes to play with children of her same age and her friends would describe her as friendly, playful and open. She really has enjoyed getting to play fun games, like UNO, with her host siblings.

HOSTING ADVOCACY PROFILE: Niu

Fan Xiao Niu Hosting 1Starting from when we picked up our “hosting son” at the airport, we’ve had been non-stop fun. This is a wonderful child. My kids love him! We unfortunately are unable adopt right now, so we are hosting to advocate, and Niu is a wonderful addition to a family! I even had to have a cry session with my 10-year-old daughter today when she offered to leave the family so Niu could be our fifth child!! He maintains eye contact, shows zero signs of aggression, defiance, or impulsiveness, there is no inappropriate attention or affection. He accepts attention and affection appropriate for a 13-years-old. He would be a great son for someone who has not adopted before as well as those who have many kids in their home.

He needs someone to act fast though, in August of 2016, Niu will turn 14-years-old and become too old to be adopted! We would just love for him to find his forever family.

Fan Xiao Niu ReadingHe is a typical 13-year-old boy who would love to have a dad to do snowball fights with and a mom to help him go shop for new clothes. He would love a dog like our German Shepherd who never sleeps anywhere but by the front door, decided to sleep at the foot of Niu’s bed! He has played with her for hours, groomed her and given her much love. He does great with younger, as well as older kids, but would love to have an older brother. We even have taken him to the local barbecue pit for lunch. He definitely doesn’t have a problem with American food.

123He has been a dream here. He is kind, gentle, patient and loving toward my children, and in turn they adore him. After getting him home from DIA, our 4th graders had a Hand Bell Concert at school. Niu was invited to come along and after a minute of thinking he accepted the invite with a smile. He was a real trooper sitting through three different Hand Bell songs that made absolutely no sense to anyone, especially him. He was attentive and clapped unlike any other 13 year-old boy would do at his younger sibling’s concert

He loves to read and finished all 5 books of the Percy Jackson Series in a day and a half! Anytime we cross paths in the house he has the biggest grin, waves, and happy “hello’s” to share with me. All my other children call me mom but he has picked up mommy as my title and it breaks my heart every time I hear it, which is frequently. This 13 year old is so tender of heart and wants a mom and dad to love him so much.

If you or someone you know would like more information about adopting Niu, please contact us at waitingchild@ccaifamily.org or call us at 303-850-9998 and ask to speak with the waiting child department. Please let us know you are inquiring about “NIU FROM WINTER HOSTING”
