Henan Kids International (HKI) recently donated money to CCAI’s Children Charity Fund to buy an electronic baby scale and 6 bouncy chairs for our Zhengzhou LOCC!
Henan Kids International is a group of adoptive families with some very special children from China, who have banded together to volunteer their time and resources for the well-being of children in Henan orphanages. CCAI has received so much support from this wonderful, young organization and we are always so thankful for all of their gifts.
Please visit www.henankids.blogspot.com for more information about our wonderful friends!
Last Thursday, CCAI was taken over by 50 first graders on a class field trip to visit our Joyous Chinese Cultural Center for a quick tour around China!
JCCC field trips are just another outreach program we offer for local communities. The wonderful ladies are JCCC work with many groups, from elementary to high school students, and have designed fun programs built specifically to help students learn and experience Chinese culture in a unique, Chinese atmosphere by participating in fun, interactive activities, tailored to meet the students’ particular interests and needs.
Last Thursday, the kids got the chance to:
- Make and taste some Chinese food
- Create some fun, traditional paper-cut projects
- Learn to write Chinese calligraphy
- Learn some Chinese Kung Fu
During the visit, our Twitter tweeted some of our favorite quotes from the kids. The kids were hilarious!
Our office always gets so giddy when field trips come to visit. It was so much fun! Thank you to Renaissance Elementary School’s 1st Grade class for such a fun afternoon!
CCCWA Director-General, Zhang Shifeng, sent his holiday well-wishes and thanks to all international adoption agencies who work with China! We thought we’d share his letter with the CCAI Family. 🙂
With Christmas and New Year approaching, please accept our sincere gratitude for you kind work in seeking suitable persons for our children through international adoptions and your continuing support to our work in respect of child welfare and inter-country adoption in China.
We sincerely hope that we will further enhance and deepen exchanges and cooperation on inter-country adoption and child welfare so as to help bring more and more children in need of families back home.
Wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Back in October, one of our little boys was featured on a CBS health news special in Colorado! Little Joshua was born with severe scoliosis that was never corrected while he was in the orphanage. If you did not catch his amazing story live, please check it out here!

What an amazing little charmer!
Sweet 8-year-old Hailey just won the Florida State Level 5 Gymnastics Meet! She is #1 in the state of Florida in her age group!
Hailey placed #1 in the state of Florida in her age group! Look at all of those medals!
Hailey also holds the 4th highest score overall in Level 5 Gymnastics, scoring a 38.025 at the State Meet!
Incredible! We are so proud of her.
Josh and Lily met with CCAI’a Guangzhou Team last week and thanked them for
their excellent service in 2012. They also spent time to review service
plans and ideas for 2013 to ensure that our adoptive families will receive
the best possible professional and personal service while they are in
Guangzhou, China. Raymond, Maggie, Jason, Jocelyn, Grace and Kathy send
their warmest holiday greetings to the entire CCAI Family!

Many people contribute to the continued success of CCAI and CCAI’s Board of Directors no doubt plays a key part of CCAI’s above-the-crowd accomplishments. On November 28th, at the last board meeting of the 2012 year, CCAI co-founders Lily and Josh presented appreciation plaques to three CCAI retiring board members: Dr. Ralph Covell, Chuck Berling, and Jerry Graham. Our deepest gratitude goes to these three wonderful individuals who guided and supported CCAI with their talent, time and treasure since the very beginning. As CCAI board emeriti, Ralph, Chuck and Jerry will continue their involvement with this proud organization as we bring home, hope and healing to more orphans around the world.
With so many families in our CCAI Family, it’s becoming harder and harder to keep everyone up-to-date on all of the going-on’s. We, of course, have our In Touch newsletter for all of our families who are still in the adoption process, and our Waiting Thread newsletter for all of our families adopting through our Waiting Child Program, and these are wonderful, program-specific resources for our families. But with these newsletters, we were missing a huge part of our Family — our families who have already adopted and are twiddling their thumbs at home, left guessing at what we’ve been doing! (We know you’re not twiddling your thumbs, but let’s pretend 🙂 )
CCAI co-founders, Lily & Josh, smiling big on the cover of the first issue of CCAI’s new CCAI Circle, surrounded by the love of thousands of families!
CCAI is happy to announce the re-introduction of our CCAI Circle newsletters! We used to mail these out to all of our families, but stopped in 2006, when we started our In Touch and Waiting Thread newsletters. Well, they’re back and we are very excited! The CCAI Circle will be a quick resource for all our families, with updates from all of our departments and complete event announcements! New issues of the CCAI Circle will be published quarterly (every March, June, September, and December).
The first issue of our new CCAI Circle was just mailed out this week (Yay!). We really hope you can all enjoy them!
Please let us know what you think about the CCAI Circle. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or tweet us @CCAI_Family using #CCAICircle!
We want to know what you think!
Last night, CCAI co-founders, Lily and Josh, took a break from their two-week charity project trip in China (related sidenote: Lily and Josh are in China on a charity project trip!) to pay a surprise visit to some CCAI families completing their adoption paperwork in Guangzhou!
Josh and Lily with happy daddies and beautiful babies!
Josh reported that there were a lot of hugs and tears. Lily, Josh and all the happy families were all so excited to see each other. “Thank you so much for the surprise. It means so much to us!” And who doesn’t love a good surprise?
Here’s something fun!
A family emailed us yesterday with some awesome holiday spirit. What kind of holiday spirit? Holiday spirit in the form of the Elf on the Shelf, of course!
Well, would you look at that? This elf is going to have SO much to talk about when he reports back to Santa.
We loved this so much; we thought it would be kind of fun to see how many elves we have out there in our CCAI Family! If you have a scout elf hiding around your house, tell them about our amazing CCAI Family so that Santa knows we’ve been trying our very hardest to stay on the Nice list!
Take a picture and share it with us — we LOVE pictures!
