We are very excited to announce that our own JCCC Director, Yu Li, was honored during a luncheon with the Chinese Consulate General, Zhao Weiping, last Thursday in recognition of her Outstanding Contribution to Chinese Culture Promotion!
Yu Li is a 19-year veteran of the Joyous Chinese Cultural Center (www.joyouscenter.org) and has been one of the key players in helping to build JCCC from a single room at the original CCAI office in Littleton, CO to now one of the only Chinese cultural center in the country with its own building! She has taught everything from cooking, games, dances, and language to recording tapes for language lessons and music for Chinese songs.
“I knew from the beginning that our school started out right. We were the only school specifically organized for adopted Chinese children. Our kids have grown up more confident and with role models and friends who look like them. Our school is where kids really discover their roots,” says Yu Li.

Our Joyous Chinese Cultural Center hosted their fantastic Chinese New Year Celebration last Friday to a packed house! The amazing JCCC students and teachers all did such an incredible job with this year’s performances!
This event is open to the public. In addition to our wonderful JCCC student performances, the evening was highlighted with a New Year’s greeting from Josh and Lily and a wonderful welcome from City of Centennial Mayor Cathy Noon, and was attended by China’s Embassy Official Gao and Dan, as well as Councilman Keith Gardner.
Thank you to everyone who attended this beautiful celebration! We had an absolute blast!
DVD’s of the entire performance will be available at the beginning of March!
Happy Year of the Goat, CCAI Family! May this year bring you much happiness, joy, and blessings.
Starting this week and running (literally) through July, children from all over the country will have a chance to participate in one of the many cultural camps our Joyous Chinese Cultural Center offers at CCAI headquarters!
Children will have a chance to meet many new friends, enjoy (and make!) authentic Chinese food, learn Chinese songs and dances, perfect the art of Chinese paper cutting, and even go on exciting field trips (adventure is out there!)!
If you are interested in signing your kids up for one of our JCCC summer camps, you can email us at email@example.com!
The Joyous Chinese Cultural Center is excited to announce the launch of their Summer Tutoring Program!
This is a fantastic opportunity to keep your Chinese language skills sharp and fresh during the summer months. Tutors are able to meet you at JCCC or, many of the tutors can even meet you at home!
We are currently generating an interest list so if you or someone you know is interested in being tutored during the summer, please email the lovely JCCC Assistant Director Kali at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (303) 221-6688 ext. 201.
On Saturday afternoon, two dance classes from the Joyous Chinese Cultural Center went to Emeritus at Roslyn senior living community to perform for their residents. A group of the residents had bought tickets to attend the JCCC Chinese New Year Celebration back in January but were unable to make it due to the snowy weather, so we brought some of the performances to them! The Peacock Dance and the Yi Minority Dance performed for the residents. Everyone enjoyed the dances and learning about Chinese dance and culture. We received so many compliments after the performance and the dancers had a blast as well! Check out more pictures of the event on our JCCC Facebook page at www.facebook.com/joyouscenter
Almost every Thursday and Friday morning, CCAI and our Joyous Chinese Cultural Center are greeted with the smiling faces of elementary and middle school students on a field trip, looking for an authentic Chinese cultural experience.
Today was no different! Here are some photos for our fantastic guests who visited today!
If you and your fellow mischief-makers are in Colorado and would like to book a field trip with the Joyous Chinese Cultural Center, simply email email@example.com to book what promises to be your students’/friends’/reading club’s favorite field trip ever! 🙂
CCAI’s Joyous Chinese Cultural Center welcomed in the Year of the Horse with their annual Chinese New Year Celebration at Mission Hills Church. Every Chinese New Year, the 300+ students of the Joyous Chinese Cultural Center put on the biggest show of the year, showing off the beautiful cultural dances and songs they have all been working so hard on all year!
The students, ages 4 – 18, performed traditional dances from all across China, choreographed by our fantastic JCCC dance teachers. Attended by over 1000 friends and family, it is undoubtedly one of our favorite events of the year. You cannot help being heart-warmed. 🙂
This year, the JCCC celebration had the incredible honor of welcoming two First Class Chinese acrobat and opera acts to the stage! What a sight. From Beijing, Master Jiang Qing Hua performed the world-renowned Face Changing opera, flawlessly speeding his way through 15 masks in 4 minutes. From Hangzhou, Ms. Zhou Mei Cao and Mr. Li Wei Jian blew away the audience with body-defying acrobatics, exhibiting incredible strength and flexibility with graceful composure. Our bodies hurt just watching them!
A DVD of the entire performance will be available on www.chinacharm.org very soon!
