TOO CUTE TUESDAY: Zhu

Happy Too Cute Tuesday! This week we’d like you to meet little Zhu – look at that sweet face! Please help Zhu find a loving, forever family.

Zhu will make it known when he needs something, and will point out the toys and foods that he likes. He is not talking yet, but he is trying! He babbles and imitates sounds, and is trying to say words.

Rong Finds His Family

Zheng Jian Rong 7.24.15 Photo 10

Late last week, after months of trying to find our little friend Rong his forever family, our Waiting Child Team was nearly complete with the process of gathering his information so they could return it to China. Just prior to hitting send … the phone rang.

On the line was a family asking about Rong! They said that they had seen his profile on CCAI’s website and knew it was to be returned soon with several other child files, and hoped they weren’t too late. They said they prayed for them all, hoping each would find their family, and they just had to ask about Rong. And they made it in the nick of time!

Zheng Jian Rong 10.21.15 (2)With just one day to make a decision before the Waiting Child team would be required to officially send his file back to China, the family went like mad calling all specialists they could. It wasn’t until the sign they had been asking for arrived in the form of a DING on their computer which was an email from the Waiting Child team! They had sent the family some new information as well as a slew of new images and a new video.

“When we saw his video, that was it, we knew he was our son,” they said. “We knew it was right because of the peace that came over us after the decision had been made.”

Zheng Jian Rong 10.16.15 (7)They also added that after introducing his picture to their four children, their 8-year-old daughter said, “I’m so happy that we are going to be his family. I’m so happy we got him.”

Congratulations to Rong and his new forever family! We couldn’t be happier for you all and wish you all a safe and peaceful remainder to your journey!

Chinese Minister Visits Adoptive Families

_MG_0276Twelve CCAI families finalizing their adoption in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, got a surprise visit from Chinese Civil Affairs Minister Li Liguo, the highest-level official in charge of China’s national civil affairs, including international adoption.

Minister Li spent time shaking families’ hands, hearing their adoption stories, and discussing the medical conditions of each of the newly-adopted children. “I have the ultimate respect for those of you who are adopting a child with special needs,” the minister told a family. “It is a very special kind of love.”

According to Henan officials, this is the first time ever, since China opened its doors to international adoption in 1992, that a Chinese Civil Affairs minister has visited adopting families and children at the time of registration and presented the Adoption Registration certificate – a historic event that clearly shows the central government’s support for international adoption.

Minister Li has been an important advocate of international adoption and a longtime friend of CCAI co-founders Joshua Zhong and Lily Nie. In 2007 CCAI’s Chinese Children Charities became the first U.S. charity registered in China, thanks to the minister’s support and approval.
