Adopteen’s newest program inspiration, called AdopTween, offers yet another beautiful opportunity for adoptees to just hang out and have fun with kids of the same or similar backgrounds. AdopTween is co-ed (*cough*We need more boys! Our boy Adopteen leads are waiting!*cough*) and invites pre-teen adoptees, ages 9-12, to share in the friendship and mentorship of some amazing Adopteen leaders!
This past Saturday was AdopTween’s second “Hangout” and the kids all decorated their own pumpkins and competed in a relay race that spanned the entire office grounds; eating donuts from strings, bobbing for apples, and playing some pumpkin hockey. The winning team all got brand new AdopTween t-shirts!
Through programs like the Post Adoption Center, Adopteen, AdopTween, and Xpress Yourself, CCAI only continues to strive to complete the links of CCAI’s services to adopted children from the moment of their entering into their families on to their adulthood. Love truly bonds us together for life.
AdopTween is currently only offered in Colorado. Next month, Adoptween is going to the Denver Zoo for Zoo Lights. 🙂

You Can Change An Orphan’s Life by Sharing Your Adoption Story!
November is National Adoption Awareness Month!!! No time is more fitting than this month for you to shine on behalf of the precious abandoned children waiting in orphanages.
This month, we’d like to challenge all of our families and friends to consider doing one of the following:
- Hold your own fundraising effort and register your team at firstname.lastname@example.org!
- Read Bound by Love with your book group!
- Organize an Orphan Care Day at your church/temple/synagogue/local community center!
- Table at an adoption conference!
- Lead an orphan prayer vigil!
- Host an adoption information meeting!
- Invite some potential adoptive families to your home for coffee or desserts!
- Blog, tweet, facebook, or pinterest adoption-related posts!
- Share our Orphan Care video!
- Do whatever activity or event you feel is effective and manageable!
Sharing your personal adoption story is one of greatest tools you can use to help connect families with the children in China who are waiting to be adopted.
Please let us know (email@example.com) if you plan to do something for National Adoption Month and we will add your event to our website and help you promote it! We can also mail you our agency brochures, flyers, reference cards, information packets, and any other material you might need (Bound by Love, t-shirts, etc.) to you for you to share with anyone who is interested in learning more about CCAI and the many ways they can be involved in caring for orphans!
Let’s all lean in and make the most of this opportunity to BE THE VOICE for the voiceless.
Thank you for your support!
CCAI had a booth at the Justice Run in Littleton, CO this past weekend in support of raising awareness of human trafficking. Several CCAI staff members were there bright and early ready to run, along with a few CCAI families as well!
We had such a blast and met some great folks. Thank you to those of you who came to say hello! Keep a look out for more CCAI booths; Adoption Awareness Month is just around the corner! 😉
Led by General-Director Zhang, a China Center for Children Welfares & Adoption (CCCWA) delegation of 10 members paid a special visit to CCAI’s headquarters in Denver on October 4, 2013. Director Zhang and the delegate officials visited some key departments of CCAI and engaged in an in-depth dialogue with many CCAI staff for their feedback and suggestions.
The delegation was hugely impressed by all of the post-adoption services we are providing to adopted children and families and love the Joyous Chinese Cultural Center, the only one of its kind by an adoption agency in the USA.
“As the largest and the top adoption agency CCCWA works with, CCAI has been a very important partner of CCCWA in finding loving and safe homes for orphaned children.”
Director Zhang told the welcoming CCAI staff and volunteers. “This is my second visit to your wonderful organization and we feel very much welcomed. The first snow of this year was a nice surprise and makes the whole visit even more memorable.”
A ping pong enthusiast, Director Zhang got a pleasant suprise when Kai, an adoptee and avid ping pong player, showed up to play a match with him! The match lasted over 40 minutes and won many rounds of wows and applause.
Director Zhang asked CCAI Co-founder Lily and Joshua to express his best wishes to all adopted children and his sincerest thank-you to all adoptive families and families stilling waiting in process.
By popular demand, and in collaboration with the Adoptive Parents Council, CCAI’s teen branch, Adopteen, is thrilled to announce:
Young Adult Adoptee Panels
Saturday, October 19th
Morning – 10:00 am – 11:30 am
Afternoon – 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm
Suggested donation: $20 per individual or $35 per couple
ALL proceeds will go towards supporting Adopteen’s various programs!
An amazing panel of young adult Chinese adoptees, ages 16-23, are eager to hear your questions and to provide you with some very helpful insight into their thoughts and experiences as adoptees! This is an invaluable opportunity to help bridge the gap of communication that so often plagues parent-child relationships, not just regarding questions on adoption but also in preparation for your child’s formative teen years as you support them and help them grow into young adulthood.
ALL are welcome! It will be an amazing conversation.
To RSVP, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, # of attendees, and which time slot you will be attending. Or simply show up! 🙂
Donations (in cash or check) will be collected upon arrival.
We hope you will join us for this exciting event!
